Youth is wasted…
I have a youtube crush on this kid (Yes, kid. I’m creeping up on 50). My DH actually found him when searching for a White Stripes song that takesomecrime was dancing to. So this kid is totally self-taught. If you watch all his videos from the beginning – which I realize you won’t do, since I’m the one with the video crush – you’d see that he kept improving his personal interpretation of some french styles.* There is one video where he admits this, in the only interview I’ve found of him, by his one time apparent girlfriend (I’m hoping they broke up).
*well actually, he dances in three styles or personas: guile, forsythe and ogg
My DH is much more coordinated than I am. So at first, I asked him to learn the style. He didn’t bite. We have often talked about taking a dance class together, but I drag my feet (ha ha). We did a little dance at the end of our wedding ceremony. Our first dance at the reception was painful to me, which is sad. Social anxiety ever the cruel thief. But anyway, this kid inspires me to find my passions and my happiest self, or to at least try.
