truth?
I am exhausted. I woke up late. No one or nothing to wake me up on time. I am an untreated workaholic. I am going to start picking one recovery tool a day from workaholics anonymous. Today’s is:
Prioritizing
We decide which are the most important things to do first. Sometimes that may mean doing nothing. We strive to stay flexible to events, reorganizing our priorities as needed. We view interruptions and accidents as opportunities for growth.I am working full time and trying to do that in four days, plus private practice on a 5th day. Why? I love the private practice but I’m working so much and trying to coordinate so much, it’s incredibly stressful. I also have the capacity to organize and think systemically, but it’s hard to keep up with it all.

on losing things
I wonder sometimes about why I lose things… There’s something I have to admit. Maybe you already know. I’m a flibberty gibbet. I’m an absent minded professor. I’m a bit of an idiot savant. How can I have a 140 IQ and be so frequently unaware of what I’m doing? Is it anxiety? Is it ADHD? Btw, my doctor finally agreed, based on Greg’s input, that I do have ADD. I’ve been on Strattera for awhile now. Maybe two months. It’s hard to tell if it’s helping. At first, Greg really thought it was. But how can I still leave my phone on top of my car and drive away? Hello? Also, I teach a class on mindfulness, but clearly I’m rarely that focused. To some degree I’ve lived this way for so long, I’m just sort of resolved to accept it. On the other hand, I feel really embarrassed, like it’s a deficiency or disability. Greg is very sweet about it. But it’s also inconvenient. I have lost my bank card so many times…. argh. I make plans to put things in the same place all the time, etc. It just never works. Oh, and then there’s my issues with clutter (hoarding and clutter in ADHD). Oy. more clutter links

Losing Things
On a fairly regular basis, I lose things, such as:
- my bank card
- my keys
- my purse
- my phone
Right now, it’s my phone

tragic update:
As it turns out, I had a suicidal phone that leaped off my car and died by the side of the road. We found the remains. I ordered a replacement through insurance, which will be here in 1-2 days. But I never backed up my sim card….
