• 13th Step

  A speaker bravely shared her history of early recovery including the 13th step.  There's a rule in recovery: "no relationships in the first year."  It's not written down anywhere, more of an oral tradition.  And unfortunately, it's rarely if ever followed.  And my point about it is it's a rule for the old-timers.  Hello, men: stop distracting newbies from their early recovery!  My other point about it is, we do everything in recovery that we did while drinking the same until we learn to do it differently.  And that includes love and relationships.
