  • Vacation Week before Wedding

We are very excited, busy with last details, somewhat stressed, and quite happy as we count down the week until we get married.  We will definitely post links to all the pictures when we get them AND we are having a free videographer, Jacob Hase, who wants to add to his portfolio.  Here’s a short of another he has done.  Here’s a link to it also, as it doesn’t quite fit in this frame.

  •  June 1st for Jane Don’t be surprised at anything that tumbles out of your mouth. No matter what, you’ll be blunt, honest, and ready to speak your mind. Warn any innocent bystanders, including your sweetheart.

June 2nd for Jane People could be quite moody today, and it would do you well not to take it personally. The stars should change over again in a day or so, so try to retreat from negative energy for a bit. In general, your interpretation of loyalty and family responsibility could be considered original, dear one. If you enjoy embraces and affection, this can be a time of communication and correspondence. Your strong desire for change could cause you to act prematurely. Take into consideration the feelings of others, my friend. This is a good time for short-distance travel because you have time to think.

June 3rd for Jane Folks are apt to act moody and out of sorts today, and someone that you invite into your home might even have a temper tantrum of sorts. It’s only temporary, and it should pass soon. If others are accusing you of lack of consideration, try not to react impulsively. The fault can probably be shared equally, especially if it involves neighbors or close, personal associates. Without saying a word, you enjoy a telepathic rapport with a friend. All this happens while taking care of business out in the world. You can be mutual helpmates, sharing the load of burdens.

June 4th for Jane Are you working through a money problem or family difficulty right now, my friend? This can be a time for identifying the sources of problems and coming up with strategies and game plans to resolve them.

June 5th for Jane Your nurturing side can be awakened today by a friend or loved one in need. You could find yourself tending to them by telling them a story about your own experiences, and it might really help them. If you feel a bit anxious about something today, eating your favorite foods or enjoying some soothing herbal tea can make you feel better. Chamomile and peppermint are two of the best kinds around. A delicate situation may require patience and tact now. Just take it slow and easy, my friend. Perhaps all that’s necessary is for you to listen and give emotional support. You can expect lots of involvements with friends, neighbors, siblings and others in and around your home base today. Dear one, this is a fine time for running errands, letter writing and communications.

June 6th for Jane You are apt to be a little agitated today, dear one. This may sound surprising, but the most soothing activity for you is likely to be cleaning out your home. It can work wonders. You’ll find it hard to contain your enthusiasm today, my dear. And those around you may react strongly, and even try to bring you back “down to earth.” Don’t let others spoil your show. This week, Jane, may bring a satisfying closure with a long-standing dilemma finally coming to a positive end! Definitely something to look forward to!

  • This Week In Astrology

Full Moon on Thursday, May 27th, 2010, at 7:07 PM EDT.

On Thursday evening, the Full Moon occurs, when the Gemini Sun opposes the Moon in Sagittarius. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon approximately two weeks ago. It is an emotional time—a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.

The Gemini-Sagittarius polarity is a mental axis, where Gemini represents the “lower mind” and Sagittarius represents the “higher mind”. The Gemini Sun encourages us to think logically, while the Sagittarius Moon persuades us to intuit, and to think in a broader manner. Sagittarius symbolizes the quest for meaning and ideas that expand upon the “here and now”. Gemini is quite comfortable in his or her immediate environment or neighborhood, while Sagittarius stimulates us to venture beyond it. Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do. This Full Moon is about communication, attitude, and our sense of adventure. Something has been building inside of us, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings. We need to express them.

The Full Moon illuminates this conflict between logic and intuition/faith. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves, and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is fresh, unrefined, and not particularly rational as yet.

  • Genealogy, Waldorf, Anthroposophy

I am delving into the hobby of genealogy. http://www.myheritage.com/site-122813791/jane-rekas

I discovered that my great grandfather was highly influential in the Waldorf movement.  My father was Felix Leu, his mother was Eva Aeppli and her father was Willi Aeppli.

Willi Aeppli (1894–1972) was a master Waldorf teacher in the Rudolf Steiner School in Basel, Switzerland. He is remembered as an excellent teacher who used his observations and daily experience to enrich his classroom teaching. He also led many informal courses on the art of education for teachers and prospective teachers throughout his long career as an educator.

    Wikipedia:

Waldorf education is a humanistic pedagogy based upon the educational philosophy of the Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner, the founder of anthroposophy. Learning is interdisciplinary, integrating practical, artistic, and conceptual elements.[1] The Waldorf approach emphasizes the role of the imagination,[2][3][4] developing thinking that includes a creative as well as an analytic component.[5][6] The overarching goals of this educational approach are to provide young people the basis on which to develop into free, moral[7][8] and integrated individuals,[2][9][10] and to help every child fulfill his or her unique destiny, the existence of which anthroposophy posits.[11][12] Schools and teachers are given considerable freedom to define curricula within collegial structures.[13]

Anthroposophy, a spiritual philosophy founded by Rudolf Steiner, postulates the existence of an objective, intellectually comprehensible spiritual world accessible to direct experience through inner development—more specifically through cultivating conscientiously a form of thinking independent of sensory experience.[1][2] In its investigations of the spiritual world, anthroposophy aims to attain the precision and clarity of natural science‘s investigations of the physical world.[1] Whether this is a sufficient basis for anthroposophy to be considered a spiritual science has been a matter of controversy.[3][4]

Anthroposophical ideas have been applied practically in many areas including Steiner/Waldorf education, special education (most prominently the Camphill Movement), biodynamic agriculture, anthroposophical medicine, ethical banking and the arts.[1][3][5][6] The Anthroposophical Society has its international center at the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland.

    May 19th for Jane Wednesday

The stars suggest that you are ready to put your plans into effect, and that others are apt to notice the meticulous and practical way in which you operate. Enjoy the recognition. The stars offer a most charming personality today, which can extend to people you don’t even know, but who may know you by your reputation for good taste and style. You are more aware of religious and cultural differences today. Have you ever learned a foreign language or studied the traditions of another land? Open your mind and the world opens to you.

    May 20th for Jane Thursday

Being able to go at a comfortable pace with the people that are important to you can make all the difference in the world. Today can be a win-win situation all around. The travel bug could easily bite today, or you could receive welcome visitors from far away. Foreign affairs may also interest you now as would community and religious events. Some person or custom may strike you as strange or foreign, and you could be puzzled by the meaning of what you see or hear. Let it sink in slowly before forming any opinions. You may be the big star for the day. You can surprise those that may have underestimated your abilities to come through in the clutch. You are more than capable of getting the job done. Social communication is likely to stimulate your ideas and opinions surrounding education, religion, philosophy, politics and community affairs. Travel and entertaining visitors is a real possibility.

    May 21st for Jane Friday

The stars are telling me that you can be highly creative today. When it comes to getting things done, others may respect you for your personal style and knowledge. If you can enjoy a really absorbing movie, than your life may be equally interesting today, my dear. The stars see a lot of behind-the-scenes drama taking place. A self-help book could be very influential now. You learn things about yourself that you hadn’t quite realized before now and that can result in you making necessary changes to your life. If you’ve been planning to visit friends or relatives who live a distance from you, this is a good time. Plan family outings. Visit with educators, travel agents, clergy or community leaders today.

    May 22nd for Jane Saturday

If you are worried about someone else’s health, I suggest you ask if you can do anything to provide some comfort or support. I know that your concern will be appreciated. It’s important to keep your cool with an important person. The more rational and calm you are, the stronger your stance will be in a dispute. Practice relaxation techniques whenever possible.

    May 23rd for Jane Sunday

You have every right to feel strongly about the direction that your life is taking, my dear. After all, no one knows you as well as you — not even your astrologer. Giving your honest reaction can seem like a mixed blessing, depending upon whether others are ready to hear your true feelings on the matter. Travel plans get a thumbs-up today. You could be inspired by someone you admire today. They could help boost your self-confidence and get you on track. It should be a very wonderful day indeed, my friend. This is not the best time for mixing social and business activities. You would do well to concentrate your efforts on improving your efficiency and productivity in your daily responsibilities today. It’s all right to want to change your life. Many changes are not only possible now but also very likely. You can begin a whole new phase of your life and reinvent yourself in the process.
